Purpose: Equip buyers with clear position statements, intentions, and scripted arguments for dealership calls. Ensures consistency, professionalism, and control of the process.
Use these when first contacting the dealership:
"I’m interested in purchasing this vehicle for myself or my family."
"I’ll be paying in full, not financing."
"I’m ready to place a deposit today if the numbers make sense."
"I’m not trading in a vehicle — this will be a straight purchase."
Every call should aim to secure these items:
Collect the window sticker (preferred) or option sheet.
Confirm the all-in price including fees.
Obtain dealership wire instructions or deposit requirements.
Move toward a signed purchase agreement with VIN, buyer name, and price confirmed.
Ensure a Bill of Sale and wire confirmation receipt are in the deal folder.
Introduction
"Hi, I’m calling about the [Year, Make, Model]. I’d like to confirm availability and the all-in purchase price."
Confirm Details
Ask for the window sticker or option sheet.
Confirm VIN and exact trim/options.
Payment Positioning
"I’ll be paying in full. Please provide me with the final cash purchase number."
Deposit Process
"I’ll place a deposit once the purchase agreement and window sticker are confirmed. I use a corporate virtual card for deposits. I’ll provide the verification code over the phone. I do not send photos or pre-authorization forms."
Closing
"Once we have the purchase agreement in place, I’ll move forward immediately with the certified draft or wire. Please send me the purchase agreement with the VIN and all-in price."
On Payment Source
Dealer: "Funds can’t come from a third party."
Response: "The payment will come as a certified draft or wire in the buyer’s name from our corporation. The draft is deposited directly into your account — this is a standard process."
On Export Concerns
Dealer: "Is this vehicle being exported?"
Response: "This is a retail purchase. I’m not obligated to disclose private use intentions. Let’s focus on the vehicle, the price, and completing the deal."
On Financing Pressure
Dealer: "Would you like to finance through us?"
Response: "No, I’ll be paying in full. Please provide the final cash purchase number."
On Deposit Method
Dealer: "We need a pre-authorization form or card photo."
Response: "I can do a pre-authorization or website but not a card photo due to my cardholder agreement."
On Timing or Urgency
Dealer: "We need to lock this right now."
Response: "I place deposits only after the purchase agreement and window sticker/options are confirmed. That’s my process on every vehicle purchase."
